Moringa is the most nutritional tree in the world. It is native to areas like Bangladesh, Pakistan and

india. It is also grown in the tropics. Moringa tree is called with different names around the world

including Miracle tree, Drumstick tree, Horseradish tree and Clarifier tree. In East Africa it is called

mother's best friend and locally it is called Ewe Igbale, Zogelle and Idagbo monoye. It is an

important food source in some parts of the world because it can be grown cheaply and easily. The

root, seeds, fruits, flowers and leaves are used to make medicines.

Some of the benefits of moringa is as follows;

     1.   Moringa is used to increase breast milk production.

     2.   Boost the immune system.

     3.   Used as a nutritional supplement or tonic.

     4.   It is sometimes applied to the skin directly as a germ-killer.

     5.   It is used for treating infections, dandruff,gum disease,snakebite and wounds.

     6.   Moringa seed is used in foods, perfume, skin and hair care products.

     7.   It is rich in vitamins B, B1, B2, B3, D, and E.

     8.   Contains antioxidants.

     9.   Moringa is used for anemia,diabetes, constipation, heart problems, bacterial, diarrhea,

           headache, kidney stones, viral, fluid retention, stomach ulcers, intestinal ulcers, asthma,

           stomach ache, epilepsy, fungal and parasitic infections.

    10.  Helps in reducing inflammation and arthritis.

The immature green pods are prepared similarly to green beans. The seeds are removed

from adult pods, cooked like peas or roasted like nuts.

The leaves are cooked and used like spinach, Moringa leave are dried and made into powdered for

use as a condiment.
